Soleil Sanat Akademi is a small, dedicated music academy in Suadiye, Istanbul, teaching flute and piano. In one-to-one lessons with Melis Mazmanoğlu, children come to love their instrument, prepare for London College of Music exams and share their music on stage every year.
Ages 6 and up
One-to-one piano lessons, from a first meeting with the keys to fluent, expressive playing. Reading, rhythm, posture and musicality develop step by step at your child’s own pace, with the stage and, if you wish, LCM exams further along the way.
Ages 8 and up
A sound that starts with the breath and grows more beautiful with patience. In one-to-one flute lessons we build a secure foundation, from breathing and embouchure to a clear tone, reading and playing with piano accompaniment, with the stage and exams along the way.

Structured preparation for London College of Music exams in piano and flute, at the level that suits each student. Pieces, technical work, sight-reading and aural tests are covered one by one, so your child walks into the exam calm and ready.
Melis Mazmanoğlu, founder of Soleil Sanat Akademi, teaches children flute and piano, and with them much more than notes and technique: how to listen, how to practise patiently and how to express themselves on stage. Soleil is French for “sun”, a symbol of an approach that gives every student room to shine in their own light.

Every June, a year of work comes to the stage. At our End-of-Year Piano Concert, held in 2025 and 2026 at Kadıköy Yeldeğirmeni Arts Centre, students play for their families and friends, and learn first-hand what preparation, nerves and applause really mean.
Our students have been awarded Distinction and Merit in London College of Music exams. Every result reflects steady practice and calm, thorough preparation for exam day.

Around six is usually a good age to begin the piano. For the concert flute, a little older is better, as the hands and arms need to reach the instrument comfortably. More than age, what matters is a child’s attention span and curiosity. If you are unsure, we can assess this together in a trial lesson.
Our lessons are designed mainly for children and teenagers. We can also arrange one-to-one lessons at suitable times for adults who would like to return to music or start for the first time. Just get in touch.

Regular practice at home is essential, so yes, an instrument is needed. To begin with, a digital piano with 88 weighted, touch-sensitive keys is perfectly adequate instead of an acoustic piano. We do not recommend small-keyed keyboards, as they make good finger technique harder. Do ask us before you buy and we will gladly talk through the options.
Lessons are one-to-one and last 45 or 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age and level. Most students have one lesson a week, and extra lessons can be arranged around exams or concerts when needed.
